Hello everyone,
Today we’re sharing our first Alpha build with those of you who backed Autonomica early. Thank you for being here with us. We did not expect over thirteen thousand people to join this early, and it means a lot to the team.
This build is an important step for us, but it is still very early. It is not an Early Access release, not a demo and not a beta. Many systems are still in active development, several features are only partially implemented and overall balance is rough. You should expect bugs, unfinished elements and, on some hardware, possible performance issues.
We want you to have a first look at the world we’re building. We’ll monitor feedback and address anything that blocks progress. Hot fixes, stability updates and balance adjustments will follow as needed. Our main priority is making sure you can get in and play without major issues.
⚠️ CONTENT SHARING NOTICE
This build is early and we know it. We will not stop you from sharing gameplay with your friends or your community, but we kindly ask that you consider giving the game a little more time to grow before showing it to a wider audience. We want Autonomica to make a strong first impression when it’s ready, and your patience helps more than you know.
We’re excited, nervous, grateful, and proud to finally let you explore this world for the first time. There is so much more coming, and we cannot wait to build Autonomica together with you. If you do end up sharing content early, please add in a disclaimer that it’s the earliest alpha build.
Thank you again for giving us the chance to share this moment with you.

YOU HAVE TO CLAIM YOUR ALPHA DISCORD ROLE TO ACCESS CLOSED ALPHA CHANNELS. HERE IS AN INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO DO IT.
Object customization and a lot of deco for your home building is not here yet. You can modify styles of objects by entering construction mode by pressing “C”
Please refrain from sharing your experience or reporting bugs on the Steam forums to avoid misunderstanding, right now only Alpha Backers will have access to the Alpha.
Bug Reporting and Feedback We are using a Bug Reporting Portal for all issues and feedback. You can find this here: https://feedback.autonomicagame.com/
Please follow these rules when reporting bugs:
Search first – Make sure your bug hasn’t already been reported. This avoids duplicate tickets. Also react to other bug submissions if someone has already reported it and to confirm if you're experiencing the same issue in the game. Helps to know how severe the bug is.
Title your report clearly – Summarize the bug in one short line. Example:
Save file will not load
Resources on conveyor lines stop moving after 20 minutes
Giraffe topiary texture flickers at night
Details help us – Write out detailed reproduction steps so we can replicate the issue.
Attach screenshots, video clips, or logs whenever possible. if not possible add them into the https://discord.com/channels/274283563367792643/1439967448089497822 channel and link your bug report.
Be respectful & patient – Fixes take time, and not everything will be resolved right away. We’re working toward the bigger picture.
KNOWN ISSUES AND LIMITATIONS
Balance and progression
Overall game balance is very raw and will keep changing as we iterate during development.
Automation balance is also very early and needs a lot of work on pacing and flow.
The game is tuned to play best if you follow the main quest line. Building far away from quest areas might feel suboptimal.
Doing activities outside of quests can sometimes bug out and hard-lock quest progression. If this happens, please provide us with a detailed step-by-step report on how we can reproduce your situation, only then will we be able to properly investigate and fix the issue.
Buffs and Debuffs might not be fully balanced; new positive and fun buffs are on the way.
Some Manufacturing and Botanical Station licenses may not be balanced correctly and might unlock features that will later move to different license tiers. Current balancing is temporary and only meant to provide more content during the Alpha.
Systems and mechanics
You can currently only save your game by quitting to the main menu. This is a temporary workaround while we finish the proper load and save system. More QoL options will come later. We also suspect that with longer playthroughs and larger factory builds, saves may become corrupted. We understand the importance of this issue, and we will work hard to make the load and save system as reliable as possible.
Crop systems are not fully implemented yet. Ideal biome detection, fertilizer, weather reactions and other features are still missing. For now, make sure your crops get sunlight and are watered at least once per in-game day.
You cannot drop items directly from your inventory yet. You can use storage boxes to store items or sell items from the bottom section of your inventory. Storage boxes and selling will become available after unlocking them via the Manufacturing Station Licence.
There are currently three vending machines on the map where you can buy food, water, and seeds.
Character customization is not in the game yet; right now, you can only select preset models from the main menu before the game starts.
World, weather and visuals
The weather is not fully balanced and can behave strangely during pattern transitions.
The World Map is static for now and will be improved in future updates.
Some objects in the world may appear pixelated due to missing texture filtering.
Some objects in the world might miss colliders or are not properly grounded.
Some props from the shop may be missing textures, and some interactable objects can bug out and leave your character stuck (hopefully not).
UI, input and hotkeys
Some hotkeys in the UI windows of different objects may not work or may behave inconsistently.
Controller support is very basic right now. We’re actively working on full support, but for now, you’ll still need to use a keyboard and mouse as well.
A lot of UI elements will miss sounds and VFX.
You can’t consume items from the Storage Boxes, only through inventory.
Performance and technical issues
Loading times can be long.
We are actively working on performance optimizations over the coming weeks. Current GPU memory usage is higher than it should be. On 8 GB GPUs such as an RTX 4060, the game may run out of dedicated VRAM and suffer severe performance drops.
Due to an engine bug outside of our control, the player log can be flooded with bogus warning messages. Please avoid leaving the game running in the background for many hours, or the log file can grow very large.
MISSING FEATURES AND WORK IN PROGRESS
Core gameplay and world systems
World markers and navigation only trigger through quests for now. You’ll be able to place your own markers later.Dynamic Points of Interest like Teleport Antennas, Satellite Dishes and Eco Farms are not configured correctly yet.
World loot is not globally balanced. It’s currently tuned around following the quest flow.
Wires between devices cannot be removed yet. You’ll need to destroy one of the objects. Using intermediate poles can help reduce the pain of this.
Destroyed objects do not return resources yet. This will be added later.
Construction, automation and tools
Conveyor line placement is still rough and will get more polish soon.
No weapons are available yet.
No Phantoms in this build.
Characters, creatures and NPCs
Characters are missing many dynamic animations like sliding and wall climbing.
No NPCs are populated in the world yet.
No birds or wild animals. Capturing, taming and husbandry are also not implemented.
Fishing is undergoing another development pass.
UI, menus and audio
The main menu is missing several important settings.
The Main Character Screen for stats, customization and full inventory is not implemented yet.
Character stats and masteries are still deep in development and not balanced.
Some UI panels are missing or still using placeholders. Many UI animations and audio cues are not implemented.
Some sounds need volume tuning. If anything feels too loud, too quiet or uncomfortable, please report it.
Current build is only available on English, more languages will be added at a later stage.
Resource Requirenment Pinning feature is not yet implemented, coming soon.
Multiplayer
No multiplayer or co-op in this version.
And finally
There are probably a bunch of other missing pieces as well. We’re on it and you’ll see more rolling in soon.
